Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical therapeutic effects of carvedilol treated with chronic heart failure. Methods 92 patients with chronic heart failure were divided randomly into control group(43 cases)and treatment group(49 cases). Control group were treated with routine therapy(turetics,ACEI or digitalis),treatment group were treated with carvedilol in addition to routine therapy. Heart function, left ventricule diastolic dimension, ejection fraction and 6-Minute walk distance were compared between the two groups before and after six months treatment. Results After 6 months, compared with the control group, cardiac function, left ventricular end-diastolic volume, ejection fraction, and 6min walking distance of the degree of improvement of the treatment group were more obvious, the difference were statistically significant(P 0. 05 or P 0. 01). Conclusion Carvedilol can improve the heart function obviously in the patients with chronic heart failure, and can improve exercise tolerance and quality of life in patients with heart failure.
