On the Building of a Model of Special Education Teachers' Professional Quality from a Multi-Dimensional Perspective

The work of special education teachers is a highly technical occupation. To improve the professional level of special education teachers,it is a must to develop special education teachers' professional standards and qualification test standards. Based on an analysis of the background of special education,the differentiation of the concepts of occupation,quality,professional quality and the professional quality of special education teachers,and the current research outcomes,this study aims to construct the model ofTwo Modules-Seven Elementsfor Chinese special education teachers' professional quality in terms of knowledge,competence,personality,professionalism,and fundamentality,so as to provide evidence for the consummation of special education teachers' professional standards and the formulation of special education teachers' qualification test standards,and offer reference for the preparation and training of special education teachers in China.
