Abstract
Objective To investigate the drug resistance of Escherichia coli isolated from patients with bloodstream infection. Methods Drug resistance of 148 strains of Escherichia coli isolated from blood samples collected from the First People's Hospital of Chenzhou City from 2008 to 2010 were analyzed retrospectively using WHONET5.3 software. Results Totally 148 strains of Escherichia coli were isolated from the samples, among them,ESBLs-producing strains accounted for 45.3%(67/148).They showed lower resistant rates to imipenem(1.35%),piperacillin-tazobactam(8.10%),cefoperazone-sulbctum(4.05%),and amikacin(11.49%).But the resistant rates to ampicillin, cefelotin, cefuroxime, cefotaxime, cefoperazone, ceftazidime, cefepime, pefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, gatifloxacin, ofloxacin, azlocillin, sulfamethoxazole, and chloromycin were all more than 40%.Conclusions Escherichia coli as the major gram-negative bacterium led to bloodstream infection, its resistance phenomenon to common antibiotics was serious, moreover, two imipenem-resistant strains were observed in the study. It is necessary to pay more attention to the phenomenon.
