Atorvastatin Influence on Blood Lipids and High Sensitivity CRP as Treatment for Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

Abstract

Objective To study the different doses of atorvastatin influence on blood lipids and high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)levels in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods 93 patients with ACS were randomly were divided into 3 groups(n=31):group A for the conventional treatment group received conventional treatment,but not lipid-lowering drugs,group B received atorvastatin 20 mg/d treatment,and group C received atorvastatin 40 mg/d treatment.The blood lipid and hs-CRP levels were measured in patients with ACS before and 2 weeks after treatment.Results After treatment,TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C were not significantly different than before treatment(P0.05).hs-CRP of group B and C decreased significantly than before treatment(P0.05),while the group C decreased more significantly(P0.01).Conclusion The results show that atorvastatin can reduce serum hs-CRP level in patients with ACS,which has great significance to the clinical study of ACS.
