Abstract

Objective To evaluate the protection of reduced glutathione and clinical therapeutic efficacy in postoperative patients with obstructive jaundice. Methods A randomized controlled trial of parallel design, 60 patients with postoperative obstructive jaundice were divided into treatment group (n=32) and control group (n=28). The treatment group was treated by reduced glutathione, the control group was treated by routine methods, clinical symptoms, signs, the average number of hospital days and aerofluxional time were observed in the two groups. Results The index of the liver function in the treatment group including serum glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (ALT), aspartic acid transaminase (AST), r-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and serum total bilirubin (TB), direct bilirubin (DBil) were obviously better than that in the control group (P0.05), clinical symptoms and objective sign were clearly light versus the control group, the average number of hospital days and aerofluxional time were short versus the control group, but not statistically significant. Conclusion Reduced glutathione on treating patients with postoperative obstructive jaundice, there is obvious therapeutic effects in the liver function restoration.
