Effect and safety of large dose of mifepristone in the treatment of perimenopausal dysfunctional uterine bleeding

Abstract
Objective To investigate effect and safety of large dose of mifepristone in the treatment of perimenopausal dysfunctional uterine bleeding( DUB). Methods A total of 80 perimenopausal DUB patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group,40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional dose of mifepristone( 6. 25 mg / d),while the observation group was treated with high dose of mifepristone( 12. 50 mg / d). Clinical effect,estradiol,luteinizing hormone,progesterone,endometrial thickness and adverse reaction were compared.Results Effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group.Level of estradiol,luteinizing hormone,progesterone and the thickness of endometrial were significantly lower than those in the control group( P 0. 05). There was no significant difference in complications between the two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion The large dose of mifepristone in the treatment of perimenopausal dysfunctional uterine bleeding is effective and safe.
