Expression of Cyclin E and p53 in Renal Cell Carcinoma and Their Significances

Objective:To study expression of p53 and cyclin E in renal cell carcinoma.Methods:The expression of p53 and cyclin E in 46 renal cell carcinomas and 15 normal renal tissue were examined by immunohistochemical procedures.Results:No significant correlation between cyclin E positive expression and histologic type,tumor grade and clinical stage were found.p53 was positive related to the clinical stage.There was good correlation for the expression between p53 and cyclin E in renal cell carcinoma.When both were positive,the 5-years survival rate was lower than others.Conclusion:Cyclin E and p53 may be the useful prognostic indicator of renal cell carcinoma.
