Study on Acrylic Emulsion Adhesive for Plastic Film Laminating

Abstract

A kind of acrylic emulsion adhesive was prepared by emulsion polymerization,which could be applied for plastic film laminating.The effect of soft/hard monomer ratio,functional monomer,and emulsifier and initiator amount on the properties of adhesives was studied.The results showed that when the soft/hard monomer ratio was 60/40~65/35,functional monomer(AA and HEA)was 5% of total monomers,emulsifier amount was between 1% and 2% of total monomers,initiator amount was about 0.6% of total monomers,the property of adhesive was optimal.Its peel strength was 1.8 N/15mm.
