Clinical Study of Integrated Chinese and Western medicine therapy for Phase Three Diabetic Nephropathy:A Report of 40 Cases

Objective: To observe the curative efficacy of Yiqi Yangyin decoction combined with benazepril hydrochloride for phase three diabetic nephropathy(DN). Methods: Eighty DN patients were equally randomized into control group and observation group by random number table. Blood glucose and blood pressure in both groups were strictly controlled. Patients in the control group received benazepril hydrochloride. Based on the treatment for the control group, patients in the observation group were treated with Yiqi Yangyin decoction orally,one dose a day. The treatment course lasted 3 months.Before and after treatment, the ratio of urinary microamount albumin to creatinine(ACR), urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER), serum cystatin C(Cys C) and blood β2-microglobulin(β2-MG) were detected; levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C) were observed;syndrome scores of deficiency of both Qi and Yin were graded. Results:After treatment,the levels of UAER,ACR,Cys C and β2-MG as well as the syndrome scores of deficiency of both Qi and Yin in both groups were decreased(P 0.01 compared with those before treatment),and the observation indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after treatment(P 0.01). After treatment,the levels of TC,TG and LDL-C in both groups were decreased,HDL-C level in both groups was increased(P 0.01 compared with those before treatment),and the changes of the indexes in the observation group after treatment were superior to those in the control group(P 0.01). The total effective rate was95.00% in the observation group, and was 77.50% in the control group, the difference being significant(P 0.05).Conclusion:Yiqi Yangyin decoction combined with benazepril hydrochloride has protective effect on kidney function of phase three diabetic nephropathy patients.The combined therapy shows better effect on relieving clinical symptoms and regulating lipid metabolism than western medicine treatment alone.
