Abstract

Objective: To explore the expression of Fas and Bcl-2 in bone marrow hematopoietic cells derived from the irradiatron-injured mice, the correlation between it and apoptosis of the bone marrow hematopoietic cells as well as the effects of ligustrazine on the animals. Methods: Kunming strain of mice were given ligustrazine in ligustrazine group after 6.0 Gy60Coγ-ray irradiation and compared with both the control group and normal group. On the 3rd,7th,14th and 21st day after irradiation, the expression of Fas and Bcl-2 in the bone marrow hematopoietic cells was evaluated and apoptosis of the cells was also detected. Results: After irradiation, expression of Fas in the hematopoietic cells was heightened, with lowered expression of Bcl-2, and the amount of apoptotic cells was increased. Ligustrazine can decrease the rates of apoptosis induced by irradiation, with marked statistic significance. Conclusion: The expression of Fas and Bcl-2 in bone marrow hematopoietic cells may play an important roles in irradiation-induced apoptoses. Ligustrazine can alleviate the apoptosis mediated by whole body-irradiation.
