Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of ligustrazine on IL-6 and IL-18 gene expression in bone marrow cell of blood deficiency mice induced by radiation and provide the basis for clarifying the molecular mechanism of blood enriching and immunoregulatory function of ligustrazine. Methods:The blood deficiency mice were induced by using a single dose of 3.5 Gy60Co γ radiation.Peripheral blood leukocytes were counted and the thymus and spleen indexes were calculated.IL-6 and IL-18 mRNA in bone marrow were measured by RT-PCR.Results:Ligustrazine can significantly raise the peripheral blood leukocytes number(P 0.05) and the spleen index(P 0.01) of blood deficiency mice induced by radiation and up-regulate IL-6(P 0.05) and IL-18(P 0.01) gene expressions of bone marrow cell of the mice, but had no significant effect on thymus index of the mice. Conclusion:Ligustrazine can promote IL-6 and IL-18 gene expression in bone marrow cells, which is probably one of the mechanisms of blood proliferation and immunoregulatory function of the ligustrazine.
