Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in diagnosis of congestive heart failure and hypertension. Methods BNP level of plasma was measured by fluorescence immunoassay on congestive heart failure(CHF) group (181 cases), hypertension group (50 cases) and control group (30 cases), besides, LVEDD, LVESD and LVEF of CHF patients were taken by color doppler ultrasonograghy and analysis was done in relation with BNP. Results Plasma BNP level of CHF group was significantly higher than that of hypertension group and both of above mentioned groups, their BNP levels were higher than that of control group respectively (P0.05- 0.01), BNP level among different groups, significant differrence was observed. There was obvious correlation between BNP level and the value of LVEF, LVESD and LVEDD (r was -0.57, 0.65 and 0.68 respectively, P0.01). Conclusion BNP level is a sensitive index for verification of ventricle function.
