Abstract

Adopting the method of ethanol extraction and agglomerate separation to prepare ursolic acid from Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. A method for determination of ursolic acid in sample by HPLC was established. The content of ursolic acid was determined by HPLC with methanol-H_2O (88∶12) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1 mL/min, and detection wavelength at 210 nm. A Symmetry Shield RP18 column was used at 25 ℃. A good linearity could be obtained in the range of 4.4~22.0 μg (r=0.999 2) for ursolic acid .The average recovery of ursolic acid was 99.32% with RSD of 0.70%. The content determination is accurate and reliable, and can be used to determine the content of ursolic acid.
