Abstract

[Objective] To explore the relation of college students’ acceptance of social support and offering social support with and mental health,so as to provide reference for their psychological counseling and health education. [Methods] With SCL-90 and Social Support Rating Scale,430 students in colleges and universities of Hebei were surveyed. [Results] 1) The social supports of male students from ‘lover and friends’ and ‘classes or association’ were more than female students,while the social supports of female students from ‘schoolmates’ and ‘instructors’ were more than male students;2) the main factors influence the mental health for male students were acceptance of subjective and objective social support,and offering of subjective social support;The main factor influence the mental health for female students were acceptance of subjective and objective social support,offering of subjective social support and the intuitive of social support. [Conclusion] The pertinence measure and strategy should be conducted to increase mental health in college students.
