Abstract
Marine microorganisms have been proved to be potential in producing novel bioactive substances. Marine-derived microorganisms are rich sources of bioactive compounds, and thus, they receive extensive attention from marine researchers. In recent years, many new structurally-unique anti-tumor compounds have been isolated from marine-derived microorganisms. The latest research progress in anti-tumor bioactive substances from marine-derived microorganisms, including actinomycete, fungi, bacteria and cyanobacterium is reviewed and the development prospects are analyzed in this paper.
