Abstract

The system of punitive damages,stemming from the United Kingdom,is widely applied in the system of common law. As a breakthrough,The Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Consumers' Rights and Interests,legislated in 1993,sets up the system for the first time. At present,it is very necessary to develop the system in our country and we should sound it on the standard of compensation,the related system,legislation in related areas,the scope of application.
