Abstract
The new revised Consumer Protection Law builds a more comprehensive system of punitive damages and expands its scope of application in order to protect the interests of consumers more effectively. The paper uses for reference the typical theories and cases of the judicial system in Mainland China and the legal system Anglo-America and conducts a theoretical analysis and evaluation of the punitive damages system by adopting the economic analysis of law.
