The Application of Task-based Language Teaching Approach in College English Teaching

Abstract

Task-based Language Teaching Approach is also called Activities Based Approach, which is first proposed by N. S. Prabhu who is from India in 1980's. It emphasizes the language teaching method of learning by doing. This thesis mainly discusses the research backgrounds and design principles of the Task-based Approach, and also accounts for its application in the College English teaching. It tries to find out a way of cultivating the students' interests in learning English and improving the students' language competence.
