TSGF in Monitoring Recurrence and Metastasis of Carcinoma

Objective To investigate the value of tumor supplies group of factors(TSGF) in monitoring recurrence and metastasis of carcinoma.Method Serum TSGF level was determined by spectrophotometry in 292 patients with elapsed carcinomas and 134 healthy people as control.Results TSGF level(±s) in recurrent tumors was significantly higher than that in healthy control group (70.7±12.6 U/ml V.s 54.5±5.2 U/ml, P 0.01).compared with local recurrence,TSGF level was significantly elevated in patients with metastatic tumor(67.7±9.9 U/ml V.s 73.1±13.1 U/ml, P 0.01),especially with bone and lung metastasis( P 0.01).With a critical level of 64 U/ml,TSGF indicated recurrent tumors with a sensitivity of 69.5% and a specificity of 97.0% .Conclusion TSGF assay with characters of extensive spectrum,highly sensitivity and specificity for malignant tumors,is an important marker in monitoring recurrence and metastasis of carcinomas.
