Inhibitory effect of tetra-arsenic tetra-sulfide on NB4 cell proliferation

Abstract
Objective To study the inhibitory effect of tetra-arsenic tetra-sulfide As_4S_4 on NB4 cell proliferation.Methods After NB4 cells treated with As_4S_4,cell viability was assessed using Trypan blue exclusion assay.Inhibitory rate of As_4S_4 on NB4 cell proliferation was observed by MTT assay.The effect of As_4S_4 on the colony-forming ability was studied by colony formation of NB4 cells.Results Cell viability was significantly inhibited when NB4 cells cultured in the presence of As_4S_4.The inhibitory effect of As_4S_4 on NB4 cell proliferation was in a manner of dose-dependent,with an IC50 of 2.86μmol/L.Meanwhile,As_4S_4 inhibited the colony forming ability of NB4 cells in a dose-dependent manner.Conclusion As_4S_4 reduces cell viability of NB4 cells in vitro and inhibits the proliferation and colony forming ability of NB4 cell.
