Cultural compatibility of conceptual metaphor translation

As a way of cognition,metaphor is rich in cultural information in its conceptual system.The core of metaphor translation lies in cultural image transfer.Cultural compatibility is an important concept in cultural translation.The paper probes into the essence of metaphor comprehension,explores metaphor models and translation,and puts forward three principles for cultural compatibility of metaphor translation:(1) Take metaphor translation as a double cognitive process to convey accurate cultural meaning;(2) find the unity of concept and form in the target language to meet reader's acceptance and cultural integration;(3) Keep metaphor feature in target language to obtain appropriate aesthetic characteristics.
