Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of prostaglandin E1(PGE1) on serum intercellular adhesive molecule-1(SICAM-1) and collagen Type-IV(C-IV) in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods 136 cases of early diabetic nephropathy were treated with 10μg of PGE1 and 100ml of normal saline once a day for 14 days as well as the routine treatment. The Changes of SICAM-1 and C-IV were observed and compared with the contrast group. Results There existed significant difference in the levels of SICAM-1,C-IV and urinary ablumin excretion rate(UAER) between the two groups(P0.01,P0.05).Conclusion PGE1 can effectively reduce the levels of SICAM-1 and C-IV in patients with early diabetic nephropathy to improve and protect renal functions.
