Abstract

[Objective]To explore the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)and hypertension and coronary heart disease.[Methods]232 selected snorers were examined with polysomography. The subjects were divided into primary snoring group, slight OSAHS group, moderate OSAHS group and severe OSAHS group. The changes of blood pressure or electrocardiogram in the OSAHS patients were analyzed.[Results]Of the 164 cases of OSAHS,92 cases were complicated with cardiovascular diseases(56.10%),including 52 hypertension(31.71%)and 39 coronary heart disease(23.78%).Of the 68 cases of primary snore,10 cases were complicated with cardiovascular disease(14.71%),including 6 hypertension(8.83%)and 4 coronary heart disease(5.89%).The incidences of hypertension and coronary heart disease in the OSAHS group were significantly higher than those in the primary snore group(P﹤0.05).The morning average systolic pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the OSAHS group were higher than those in the primary snoring group(P﹤0.05).[Conclusion]The incidence of OSAHS is high in elderly people.OSAHS is significantly correlated with cardiovascular diseases.
