The Duality and Convention of the Discipline of Teaching Theory

Teaching theory is a discipline of theory and practice.The theorization helps us to prevent the empirical tendency of the teaching theory research and consciously improve our theoretical level of thinking;and the practicality helps us to prevent the tendency of the scholastic research and adhere to the principle that the realistic teaching and learning problems are the key points of the teaching theory research.Currently,we should overcome and avoid two extremes in the teaching theory.On one hand,teaching theory might become a purely academic discipline or even the scholasticism whose function is to impart the teaching theory knowledge and clarify the teaching theory world excessively, which will lack the teaching experiences and immerse itself in the trap of grand narration.On the other hand, teaching theory research has to develop under the guidance of the utilitarian value and become the transient strategy of application.Without the aim to change the current situation,the discipline of teaching theory will lose the due academic reason.In order to shoulder the duty of the academic development and social responsibility,it is of much importance to seriously reflect oneself for the researchers.Any ethical affectation means deforming the reality and avoiding the consequence of one's own behaviors.
