Abstract
Ching-ying Hui-Yuan, who writes a lot of works and has profound influence on Chinese Bud- dhism, is considered as one of the three Masters in the Sui Dynasty. Based on the studies related to the issue, this paper examines thoroughly Ching-ying Hui-Yuan's Works. It proves for the first time that the P.2141 in Dun Huang Bao Zang(《敦煌宝藏》)is a part of The Commentary on Bodhisattva-bh■mi- s■tra (《地持论义记》) ,which is a book written by Ching-ying Hui-Yuan. It demonstrates more carefully that The Commentary on the Treatise on the Awakening of Faith (《大乘起信论义疏》) is one of Ching- ying Hui-Yuan's works, fixes the time when Ching-ying Hui-Yuan writes his books, and describes the process in which he composes The Commentary on Mahāparinivā ■ a-s■tra (《大般涅■经义记》) Last- ly, it states chiefly Ching-ying Hui-Yuan's influence on Zhi-yi, Ji-zang, Yuan-xiao, Zhi-yan, and Fa- zang.
