Abstract
YAN Ke-jun, scholar in the QING Dynasty, revised and edited the book titled a Collection of Essays in the JIN Dynasty , in which he collected the book with the title Tanwujie' s Appraisal of Buddha written by WANG Qi-zhi and SHI Hui-yuan in the East JIN Dynasty. The two works were so similar both in wording and topics that they can be regarded as exactly same one. Yet YAN and the contemporary academic circle didn' t present any distinguishment. Through careful work of differentiation and by analyzing the ideas cherished and the narrative method applied, the author of this paper concludes that the writer of the Tanwujie' s Appraisal of Buddha was SHI Hui-yuan.
