Abstract
Based on the former researchers' achievements, this thesis gives a new investigation of the sutra Ti-tsang p'usa pen-yuan ching about the translator, genuine or sham, and origination age.The sutra was already very popular in the Song Dynasty according to the current and unearthed documents, the efficacious records edited by monks and the article written by a literate. It concludes that the upper limit of the appearance time of the sutra is in Tianfu period(936-944),and the lower limit, considering the relations between the sutra and shih-chai jih,is in 974.It points that the sutra was confessedly forged in China;the forger, abundant in Buddhist knowledge, should be a worshiper of Ti-tsang;if it is not completely unfounded that some versions mark Fadeng as the translator,Zen monk Fadeng who lived in Qingliang Mountain in the Five Dynasties and the Beginning of the Song Dynasty, may be the forger;but in my opinion,Changjin, the editor of Efficacious Records of Images of Ti-tsang p'u-sa is more likely to be the forger.
