Abstract

[Objective]To find out the current status of drug-resistance of pulmonary tuberculosis in Chongqing and evaluate the control effect on pulmonary tuberculosis,to provide evidence for developing strategies on control and prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis.[Methods]According to the Guidelines for tuberculosis drug-resistance monitoring of WHO/IUATLD,we identified the bacterial types of positive samples from new smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients.[Results]We tested 1 119 samples in 2005.The drug resistance rate and multi-drug resistant rate were 14.9% and 4.6% respectively. The initial drug resistance rate and initial multi-drug resistance rate were 11.0% and 2.4% respectively, and the acquired drug resistance and acquired multi-drug resistance rate were 40.8% and 19.7%.[Conclusion]The results suggest that the drug resistance still ranks low in Chongqing. We should improve the quality of DOTS and strengthen the expansion of DOTS to control the epidemic of drug-resistance of pulmonary tuberculosis.
