Influence of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction on brain-gut peptide and nitric oxide synthase in esophageal mucosa of rabbit with reflux esophagitis

Abstract
Objective: To study the influence of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction on vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),substance p(SP) and nitric oxide synthase(NOS2) in esophageal mucosa of rabbit with reflux esophagitis.Methods: Rabbit models of reflux esophagitis were established,and esophageal mucosa pathological changes wer observed after HE staining.Immunohistochemical technique was used to test VIP,SP,and NOS2 levels in esophageal mucosa of rabbits.Results: Compared with normal group,the inflammatory cells infiltration in escophageal mucosa of rabbits in model group was significant,and expressions of VIP and NOS2 were increased significantly(P0.01),while the expressions of SP was decreased significantly(P0.01).After treatment of Chinese medicine,the escophageal mucosa of rabbits in Quanfang group,Gansheng group,Qukujiang group and Qushengjiang group were repaired to different degrees,and the expressions of VIP in escophageal mucosa of rabbits in Quanfang group and Gansheng group were weaken significantly compared with model group(P0.01).Compared with rabbits in model group,the expressions of SP of rabbits in Quanfang group and Qushengjiang group were enhanced significantly(P0.01),and the expressions of NOS2 of rabbits in Quanfang group and Qukujiang group were enhanced significantly(P0.01).Conclusion: The whole prescription of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction could treat reflux esophagitis effectively by decreasing the expression of VIP and NOS2,increasing the expressions of SP,adjusting gastrointestinal motility,inhibiting regurgitation of gastrointestinal contents,and promoting the restoration of mucosa,while the curative effect of Kujiang group and shengjiang group on reflux esophagitis was inefficacious.
