Abstract
The synthesis of butyl acetate with n butanol and acetic acid as reactants and p toluene sulfonic acid as catalyst had been studied.The influent factors of reaction were investigated.The results showed that the appropriate conditions should be:weight of catalyst was 0.8 g(weight of acetic acid if 0.2 mol);molar ratio of n butanol to acetic acid was 1.2∶1;reaction time was 2.0 h;the taking water reagent (cyclohexane)was 5 ml,the yield of butyl acetate was about 96.9%.
