Abstract
sec-Butyl acetate was synthesized from acetic acid and sec-butyl alcohol catalyzed by p-toluene sulfonic acid. The optimum conditions were determined by orthogonal experiments including molar ratio of secbutyl alcohol to acetic acid of 1.6 ∶1,dosage of catalyst of 1.98 g,reaction time of 120 min and water-carrying agent of 15 mL. Under these conditions,the esterification rate could reach 88%.
