Abstract

Cyclohexyl acetate was synthesized using acetic acid and cyclohexanol as reactants and p-toluene sulfonic acid as catalyst. The influence factors of molar ratio of alcohol to acid, catalyst weight, and reaction time was examined through orthogonal experiments. The results showed that the best reaction conditions were as follows: the amount of acetic acid was 0.1mol, the ratio of cyclohexanol to acetic was 1.6:1, the amount of catalyst was 0.2g. After reacting for 2h, the yield was over 97%.The product was colorless and transparent. The structure of the product was characterized by IR.
