Abstract
[Objective]To explore the changes and clinical significance of serum concentration of tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6)and C-reaction protein(CRP) in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). [Methods]Serum samples were collected and prepared from 38 inpatients with acute exacerbation of COPD before and after two weeks therapy and 26 normal controls. Serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6 were detected by ELISA and CRP by nephelometry method. [Results]The levels of serum TNF-α,IL-6 and CRP in COPD with acute exacerbation were significantly higher than those after therapy(P0.01)and in control group(P0.01). The levels of serum TNF-α and IL-6 in COPD with acute exacerbation after therapy were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.05). [Conclusion]Dynamic observation of the changes of serum TNF-α,IL-6 and CRP provides an important means in evaluating the prognosis of patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
