Abstract

Objective To study the level of serum concentration of interlinkin-8(IL-8)andC-Reaction protein in patiens with acute exacerbationl of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD )before and after two weeks therapy. Methods The serum was sample and prepared from 36 cases of COPD patients with acute exacerbation before and after two weeks therapy and 36 normal controls.serum level of IL-8 was detected by ELISA and CRP by nephelometry method. Results The level of IL-8 in COPD with acute exacerbation is significantly higher than that after therapy (P0.01)and in control group (P0.01);the level of CRP in acute exacerbation is significantly higher than that in control group(P0.01).Conclusion IL-8 and CR being involved the acute inflammation in COPD may be indication of infection in COPD patienes.
