Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of lactoferrin on proliferation of the cultured Eca-109 cells in vitro. Methods: MTT assay was used to evaluate the growth inhibition effect of lactoferrin on Eca-109, L0-2 and CHO cell lines. Results: Lactoferrin significantly inhibited the proliferation of Eca-109 cells in a dose-dependent manner, but had no effect on the normal cells. Conclusions: Lactoferrin as a new cancer chemo-preventive agent could significantly inhibit the growth of Eca-109 cells.
