The Expression and Significance of survivin,bcl-2,p53 Protein in Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia and Cervical Carcinoma

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of survivin,bcl-2,p53 protein in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and cervical carcinoma.Methods By using immunohistochemical method(S-P),the expression of survivin,bcl-2 and p53 protein was examined in tissues from 64 cases with cervical carcinoma,20 cases with high grade CIN(H-CIN),20 cases with low grade CIN(L-CIN) and 24 cases with chronic cervicitis.Results The expression of survivin,bcl-2 and p53 protein was significantly different among four groups(P0.01).The expression of the above protein in the three groups of cervical carcinoma,high and low CIN,and chronic cervicitis was significantly different(P0.05).There was statistically significant difference between the expression rate in L-CIN and H-CIN,as well as in L-CIN and cervical carcinoma(P0.01),but there was no statistically significant difference between the expression rate in H-CIN and cervical carcinoma(P0.05).The expression of survivin was positively correlated with that of bcl-2 and p53(P0.01).Conclusion Survivin was highly expressed in cervical carcinomas,and its expression was related to pathological grade.The expression of survivin was positively correlated with that of bcl-2,p53 protein in cervical carcinoma.This suggests that surviving may be involved in the tumorigenesis of cervical carcinoma.
