Expression of L-selectin in patients with carcinoma of endometrium

Objective To investigate the expressions and roles of L-selectin in patients with carcinoma of endometrium.Methods Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)method was used to detect and quantify L-selectin mRNA expression levels in carcinoma tissue and para-carcinoma tissue of 16 patients with carcinoma of endometrium and the normal endometrium of 16 healthy women.Results The expression of L-selectin was observed in carcinoma tissue,para-carcinoma tissue and normal endometrium.The expression level in carcinoma tissue was significantly higher than that in para-carcinoma tissue of the patients with carcinoma of endometrium(1.03±0.11 vs.0.49±0.13,P0.01),and than that in normal endometrium(1.03±0.11 vs.0.51±0.15,P0.01).Conclusion The higher expression of L-selectin in the carcinoma tissue from the patients with carcinoma of endometrium may indicate a close relationship with production and metastasis of cancer cells.
