Abstract

Objective To observe changes of expression of CD11b/CD 18 on neutrophils and monocytes and serum level of C-reactive protein in peripheral venous blood of patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods Thirty patients with acute coronary syndrome,24 patients with stable angina pectoris and 30 controls with negative coronary angiography were measured the expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes with direct immunofluorescence techniques associated with flow cytometry and C-reactive protein with ultrasensitive immunoassay(rate nephelometry with the Beckman Immunochemistry Systems). Results The expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes and serum level of C-reactive protein in the acute coronary syndrome group were significantly higher than those in the stable angina pectoris group(P0.01)and controls(P0.01).Conclusion The expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes and serum C-reactive protein in patients with acute coronary syndrome are related to the unstability of plaques.
