Abstract

The super absorbent resin was synthesized by inverse suspension polymerization of acrylic acid sodium acrylate, using micella as the dispersing phase, Span 85 OP as dispersing agent, N,N methylene bis acrylamide as crosslinking agent and potassium persulfate sodium sulfite as initiating agent. The optimum reaction conditions were reported. The product exists as uniform particles, and it absorbs about 1260 g/g water or about 110 g/g for 0.9% salt water.
