Abstract
A high water absorbent polyacrylic acid was obtained by inverse suspension polymerization in the system of cyclohexane as linked phase and water as dispersed phase. The reaction conditions such as different amount of base, crosslining agent, initiator and temperature, which effect the physical condition and water ability of the polymer, have been studied. The resin prepared was capable to absorb water as high as 850ml/g and saline (0.9% NaCl) as high as 120 ml/g.
