Abstract

A super water-absorbent resin was synthesized by means of inverse suspension polymerization, in which the continuous phase was n-hexane, the dispersing agent was Span 80, the cross-linking agent was N, N'-methylene bis-acrylamide and the initiator was potassium persulphate. A few of super water-absorbent resins were synthesized by adjusting the use level of the dispersing agent , initiator and cross-linking agent during the reaction .The absorption amount of the best resin is about 550 mL/g of deionized water,170 mL/g of running water, and 60 mL/g of 0.9 % NaCl solution.
