Abstract
Objective To study mucin MUC1 expression and clinical pathological features relationship and significance. Methods SP immunohistochemistry technique was used to evaluate the expression of mucin MUC1 in benign borderline malignant ovarian epithelial tumors. Results ①The positive rates of mucin MUC1 in benign, borderline and malignant ovarian tumor tissue were 40%, 90% and 84%, respectively. Expression of MUC1 in borderline ovarian tumor and malignant ovarian tumor was significantly higher than in benign ovarian tumor ( P =0.0001). ② Expression of mucin MUC1 was significantly associated with WHO pathological grades, FIGO clinical stage, the greater omental metastasis (P0.05).③ Among 50 cases of malignant ovarian tumor with survival analysis, only expression of MUC1 and FIGO clinical stage retained significant independently in prospecting prognosis (P0.05).Conclusion The expression of mucin MUC1 in ovarian malignant is higher. MUC1 is related with WHO pathological grades, FIGO clinical stage, the greater omental metastasis. Mucin MUC1 is an excellent indicator for benign and malignant tumor in ovarian epithelial tumor.
