Death Investigation among the Residents in Shouguang in 2006

[Objective]To investigate the mortality and causes of death among the residents,provide scientific basis for the development of health service planning and health policy.[Methods]Data of residents died in 2006 were investigated in Shouguang.[Results]There were 1 017 023 residents in Shouguang in 2006,6 060 of them died,the mortality was 595.84/100 000.The mortality of residents(/100 000) in male was 680.11,in female was 509.89,the mortality was 636.70 in the people aged 0 years old,60.12 in the people aged from 1 to 4 and 21.64 in the people aged from 5 to 9.When the age is over 9,the mortality increased with age increasing.The first forth causes of death among male residents are circulatory diseases,malignant tumor,respiratory diseases,injury,poisoning and external causes.Among female are circulatory diseases,respiratory diseases,malignant tumor,injury,poisoning and external causes.The average life expectancy for residents is 77.97,74.22 for male and 81.83 for female.[Conclusion]Circulatory diseases,malignant tumor,respiratory diseases,injury,poisoning and external causes are the main caused of death among residents in Shouguang.
