Breeding of a New Watermelon Variety “Xuefeng Heimeiniang”

Xuefeng Heimeiniang is developed by using BC217 as female parent and HC206 as male parent.The fruit matures 90 days from sowing and 30 days from flowering.The plant is strong and has good fruit set under humid condition.The average fruit weigh is about 6 kg and the 667 m2yield is about 3 500-4 000 kg.The fruit is globe shaped with deep green skin and dark green stripes.The flesh is red with sugar content about 12.0%,sweet flavor and fine texture.Xuefeng Heimeiniang is suitable for open field cultivation,long season protected cultivation in the middle and lower part of Yangtze River or areas with similar ecological condition.
