A new small fruit yellow flesh watermelon F1 hybrid——Xuefeng Xiaoyu No. 8

Xuefeng Xiaoyu No. 8 is a new small fruited yellow flesh seeded watermelon F1 hybrid with durable rind. The plant is strong in vigor,resistant to disease and easy to set fruit. The fruit is long oval shaped and has black skin with dark green stripes. Fruit matures about 85 days from sowing and about 25 days from flowering. The fruit rind is thin,about 0.7 cm,but durable and the rind toughness is greater than 26 kg/cm2. The flesh is yellow and crisp,the soluble solid contents is about 12%-13%. Average fruit weight is 2-3 kg and the yield is 2 000-3 500 kg per 667 m2.
