Abstract
Objective To investigate the C-reactive protein(CRP) and interleukin-6 concentrations in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) and its macrovascular complications,to study the relation between CRP、IL-6 and diabetes mellitus and it′s macrovascular complication. Methods Serum CRP and IL-6 levels were assayed by ELISA,which were determined in 60 type 2 DM patients(with or without macrovascular complications 30 cases respectively) and 29 healthy controls.Result(1) CRP and IL-6 levels in type 2 DM patients were higher than those of healthy controls(P0.01).(2)There was a significant difference of CRP and IL-6 levels between type 2 DM patients with and without macrovascukar complication(P0.01).(3)CRP and insulin sensitivity index(IAI),insulin scretion index(IS) had mutual passive correlation(P0.05).CRP and fasting blood glucose(FBG)、postcibal blood glucose(PBG) had mutual positive correlations(P0.05 P0.01 respectively).CRP and course of diseases、GHbA_1c、IL-6 had mutual positive correlations(P0.01).IL-6 and postcibal blood glucose(PBG) had mutual positive correlation(P0.05).Conclusions CRP and IL-6 play important roles in the initiation and development of type 2 DM.
