Therapeutic effect of ambroxol hydrochloride on children with cough variant asthma

Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of ambroxol hydrochloride on children with cough variant asthma.Methods One hundred and fifty children with cough variant asthma were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 75 cases in each group. The control group was treated with montelukast sodium and salbutamol tablets,and the treatment group was treated with montelukast sodium and ambroxol hydrochloride. Results The cough disappeared time of the treatment group was significantly shorter than that of the control group( P 0. 05). Efficacy rate of treatment group and control group was 89. 3% and 76%,respectively,there was significant difference in clinical efficacy between the treatment group and the control group(χ2= 4. 6526,P 0. 05). Adverse reaction rate in control group was higher than that in control group(χ2= 4. 7535,P 0. 05). Conclusion Ambroxol hydrochloride is effective and safe to treat cough variant asthma of chiIdren. It should be widely applied in the clinic.
