The Clinical Effect and Safety of Montelukast Sodium Treatment of Cough Variant Asthma in Children

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical effect and safety of Montelukast Sodium treatment of cough variant asthma in children.Methods: 166 cases of cough variant asthma in children were divided into control group and observation group,each for 83 cases.The patients of control group were given Terbutaline combined with Budesonide spray inhalation,and the patients of observation group were given Montelukast Sodium on the basis of control group.After 4 weeks,the clinical effect was evaluated.Results: The rate of effect was higher in observation group than in the control group(91.57%VS80.72%,P0.05).The asthma duration time,cough and wheezes disappeared time were faster in observation than in the control group(P0.05).After treatment,FEV1 and PEF% were significantly increased(P0.05),the observation group was better than control group(P0.05),there were no severe side effects.Conclusion: Montelukast Sodium can improve pulmonary ventilation function and relieve patients symptoms,it is a reliable methods for treatment of cough variant asthma in children.
