Analysis of tendency of susceptibility of genital Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasma hominis to antibiotics in Shenzhen City

Objective To investigate changing trend of susceptibility of genital mycoplasma to common antimicrobial agents in Shenzhen City.Methods The in vitro activities of 9 antibiotics against U.urealyticum(Uu) and M.hominis(Mh) strains isolated from patients in 2004-2007 were determined and compared.Results A total of 2607 Uu and 60 Mh strain were examined.During the past 3 years,the susceptibility of Uu to doxycycline,minocycline and clarythromycin was high,but its suscrptibility to roxithromycin was very low.Over 75% of Mh isolates were sensitive to doxycycline、minocycline and josamycin,but its suscrptibility to clarythromycin,roxithromycin,azitromvcin was less than 10%.Conclusion The tendency of resistance of Mycoplasma islates to quinolones isolates increased in the past 3 years.Multiple resistance to two or more antibiotics are frequent.Long-term monitroing of resistance Mycoplasma is important for guiding clinical treatment of Mycoplasm infection.
