Treatment of Astragalus Membranacenus and Prednisone in 90 Primary Nephrotic Syndrome Patients

Objective To observe therapeutic effect of astragalus membranceus in treatment of primary nephrotic Sysdrome.Methods Ninety patients were divided into three groups at trandom: the patients in group A were treated with prednisone,in group B treated with prednisone and salvia miltiorrhiza,and in group C treated with prednisone and astragalus membranaceus.The changes in their urine.Protein,serum albumin,blood fat after the treatment were observed.Results The decrease of urine protein,increase of serum albumin and lowering in total cholesterol and triglyceride were found in the three groups(P0.01).The patients in the group treated with astragalus membranaceus are more significant than that in the other two groups(P0.01).Conclusion Astragalus membranaceus can decrease urine protein,increase serum albumin,and lower blood fat level.
